By the end of 1976 only the 1s and 7s were competing outside their respective First Divisions, thus re-establishing the Club amongst the top in the SAL. The 1s would have to wait another season to put that right. Their league campaign was uninspiring, but the side did succeed in bringing another senior trophy back to Carshalton when they won the AFA Surrey Senior Cup beating Old Westminster Citizens 2-1 in the final at East Molesey with goals from Al Suffling and Alec Benham.
Bernie Traynor led the 2s to the final of the AFA Surrey Junior Cup, where they lost to a strong Corinthian Casuals "A" side, but only after taking them to a second replay (with 1-1 and 0-0 draws at Nat West Bank Sports Ground, Norbury). They put this disappointment behind them and recovered to gain promotion to Division 1, securing the runners up spot by a fraction of a goal average. Their record read:

The 3s also had a magnificent season, just missing out on winning the Division 1 championship. Defeat in the penultimate game against the eventual winners, handed the title to Midland Bank. Their record read:

The 4s only survived in Division 1 by a point after victory at Crouch End on the last day of the season, and the news that Old Stationers had lost. The 5s easily kept their Division 1 status (maintained for 10 years), the 6s stayed in Division 1 on goal difference and the 7s finished 3rd, just missing out on promotion.
