1984-85 was a season of consolidation for the 1st XI on their return to the top flight. Finishing in mid table was a reasonable success and Carshalton was able to boast 3 players playing representative football – Bobby Horn (SAL), Dave Bartram (SAL) and Chris Hithersay (AFA). There was little success in the cup competitions this season for the 1st XI, but that was not the case lower down the sides.
There was consolation for the 2s marginal failure to win promotion by capturing the AFA Surrey Intermediate Cup. Victories over Fulham Compton Old Boys 3-2, Economicals 4-2, and Old Salesians 3-1 put them into the final, where they beat Old Wokingians 2-1.
The 6s also secured silverware by winning the AFA Junior Novets Cup with wins against Glyn Old Boys 10-1, Old Esthameians 7th XI 5-1, Norsemen 3-2, Mill Hill Village 3-1, Barclays Bank 3-2 and Old Esthameians 6th XI 2-1 in the final.
The Vets retained the Lloyds Bank AFC Veterans Annual tournament trophy – amazingly without conceding a goal.
