12th October 2002
Committee
Meeting Summary
The Committee have discussed
the issue of the 5th team kit that has not been returned by
last year's skipper Andy Richardson. A number of
solutions were discussed and it was decided that pursuing
the matter any further with Mr Richardson was a fruitless
exercise. However we will write to the AFA and SAL
warning them of Mr Richardson's conduct.
The code of conduct presented
to the AFA and SAL and agreed at the AGM was formally
endorsed by The Committee. It will be published on the
web site.
3 first aid kits for use on
pitch sides are to be purchased by Adrian Turner at the cost
of £40 each. They are to be used by the home skippers
on the 1st team pitch, 2nd team pitch and one in the park.
Old Meadonians 6th XI failed
to show for their AFA Intermediate Novets Cup tie on 5th
October. We will write to them with the bill for their
failure to show - teas, referee's fee and pitch hire
The issue of players not
turning up for games was raised. The Committee takes a
VERY dim view of this behaviour. Members are
responsible for their punctuality and they let down
themselves, their team mates and the Club by a non
appearance. This will result in a 1 week suspension if
the Team Secretary (Trevor Boughton) does not receive an
acceptable excuse - note that sleeping in and being drunk
are not acceptable. The Team Secretary's decision is
final on these matters.
It has come to the attention
of The Committee that lower sides have been using
substitutes. In particular the 4s brought a sub to
Norsemen. The skipper will be reminded of the policy
on substitutes that was agreed at the AGM - 1s are permitted
to select 2 subs, the 2s are permitted to select 1
sub. No other sides may select substitutes. This
policy will be reviewed at the next Committee meeting when
the playing strength of the Club can be better assessed.
It is encouraging to see a
number of last season's successful 6th team rising through
the sides. All skippers are to be reminded that the
Carshalton kit comprises black shorts and socks. Any
other colour is not permitted.
