10th July 2003 Most Spectacular Goal Ever?
Richard Verlander sprints from the halfway line, leaps from the 18 yard box and rises like a salmon to smash an unstoppable volley past a stunned Winchmore Hill keeper, defence and, to be fair, fellow team-mates. For sheer athleticism alone it has to be the greatest ever, but to do it in the SAL Minor Cup final as well is simply sensational. If you know of a better one in the famous Myrtle Green, send your photographic evidence or description of the goal to Buzz@doctorthephoto.com with the usual beer tokens enclosed. |
