May 2004 News Summary 31 May 2004 - No U14s in 2004/05 - the Club will not be running a team at U14 level next season. The Committee would like to thank Paul Streat for the work he did throughout last season with the U13s. We understand Paul's reasons for not carrying on next season, and we send Paul and all the boys who represented the Club last season our best wishes. 18 May 2004 - First Aid Course (CHANGE OF DATE) - the Club has organised for an FA First Aid course to be held on Wednesday 9 June from 7pm to 10pm at The Plough, Wallington. The course is free to Club members and will be run by the AFA. The Club asks for anyone interested in attending the course and gaining an FA Qualification to contact the Club by clicking carshaltonfc@hotmail.com. All skippers are asked to register if they do not already have a First Aid certificate. 17 May 2004 - U10s Trials NOTE CHANGE OF DETAILS- these will be held on 2 Saturdays - 12 & 26 June in Beddington Park. Registration is at 2pm by the Park Cafe and trials will end at 3.30pm. All coaches are FA Qualified. Boys must be born after 31st August 1994. The team is looking to build on the success of last season. Emphasis is on enjoyment and player development. Contact the Club at carshaltonfc@hotmail.com for details. 12 May 2004 - Golden Boot - the provisional winner of the Golden Boot for 2003/04 is Tony Edwards with 22 goals. We say provisional, because a staggering 65 goals have not been claimed this season. Check out the link on the left of this page to see the unclaimed goals. All claims must be ratified by the skipper. 12 May 2004 - Under 13s 2004/05 - Carshalton will be entering a new Under 13s side in the West Surrey Youth League in 2004/05. We are looking for additional players to strengthen the squad. Training is conducted by FA Qualified coaches within a structured programme. We offer the chance to play in a friendly team (both players and parents) who enjoy playing football. Boys must be younger than 13 on 31st August 2004. If you are interested in joining, please call John Shaw on 020 8655 0133 or 07930 338421 or email the Club carshaltonfc@hotmail.com. 10 May 2004 - U16s Game Off - Carshalton U16s final league game was called off last Sunday. Carshalton had already won the league and Meadow Sports had nothing to gain by playing the fixture. This completes the season for all Carshalton sides, though the youth teams will be competing in Summer tournaments. We will keep you updated with progress. 4 May 2004 - Weekend Review - the 1s finished the season with a 4-4 draw at Old Parmiterians, who were playing their final fixture in the SAL. Jon Phillip's first hattrick for the 1s and a Keith Cave special rounded off the season nicely. This is the final SAL game of the season for Carshalton teams, so we can all take a rest and prepare for next season. The AGM is on 7th July 7.30pm at the Clubhouse. All members are invited to attend. On Sunday, the U16s won both their double header games at Hayes and in the process secured the WSYL Premier Division title. This has been done with only 6 goals being conceded in 19 games. Only game to be played is at Wilsons School, Wallington on Sunday 9th May against Meadow Sports. Hopefully we will be able to get pictures of the team with the league trophy. Congratulations to Graham Polley, Mark Adams, the squad and all associated with the team. We hope that we will see some of the players moving through the senior team ranks next season.
