31 Oct 2004 - Weekend
Review - with all the success of the previous
week, it is a bit surprising how disappointing the results
were this weekend. With the 1s resting, the 2s took
centre stage and provided plenty of spills and thrills in a
3-3 draw at home to Bank of England. The 3s tasted
defeat for the first time this season when they went out of
the AFA Junior Cup at 1st Division Polytechnic by the
narrowest of margins. The 4s drew at home in the
league, but elsewhere there were defeats for the 5s in the
SAL Cup and for the 6s and 7s in the league. The Vets
couldn't score for the second week (Chris Hithersay missed a
penalty!) and lost to Chelsea Diamonds.
On Sunday the U13s and U16s scored plenty, but unfortunately
also conceded 7 each. The U10s turned in their best performance of the
season to beat Gas United in a thrilling game - just what
kids football should be all about.
29 Oct 2004 - AFA Minor
Cup Fixture - the 4s have been rewarded for their
1-0 win over Old Danes last Saturday with a trip to North
London to face Old Ignatians of the AFC in the next round on
27th November.

Oct 2004 - First Aid
Course - Mike Brown of the AFA ran an Emergency First
Aid course at Carshalton FC on Tuesday 26 October. We
thank him for his time and efforts that meant that all sides
now have FA qualified first aiders.

Oct 2004 - Weekend Review - what a set of results -
might let the SAL web site know about this lot. The 1s
maintained their unbeaten start to the league campaign when
a Simon Clare goal earned them their 4th draw in 5
starts. Elsewhere, all competitive fixtures were won! The 2s
comprehensively beat Winchmore 3-0 with the ever popular
Shane Bowes scoring a couple and containing his
celebrations!! The 3s thumped Lloyds TSB Bank - they
have been threatening this sort of result all season.
The 4s overcame very trying circumstances to see off Old
Danes in the AFA Cup. The 5s played out an
entertaining 4-2 win over a pleasant Alleyn Old Boys
side. The 6s won for the first time - away at Bank Of
England. Congratulations to James. The 7s
chipped in with possibly the result of the day after the
debacle of the previous week - winning 4-1 at EBOG in the
SAL Cup.
The Vets lost in a close game to HAC.
On Sunday the U13s lost 0-5 to Barnes Eagles and the U10s
were beaten 1-4 in a game most will want to forget.

Oct 2004 - Weekend Review - the 1s continued their
unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Weirside
Rangers with a goal from Adam Taylor. The 2s were
involved in a climatic finish at Beddington Park. The
score was 2-1 to Carshalton with 5 minutes to go, but it
finished 4-2 with a flurry of goals. The 3s continued
their winning ways at Merton, as did the 4s in the SAL Cup
at Old Latymerians. The 5s lost against the team they
beat in the cup the previous week and the 6s picked up their
first point of the season. I doubt I will be asked to
referee the 7s again this season after they conceded 8 goals
for the second time with me in charge!
On Sunday the U16s had a bit of a nightmare at Feltham, but
the U13s won through to the next round of the Surrey Cup and
the U10s reached the final qualifying round of the Inter
League Cup.

6 Oct 2004 - Match
Reports - well done to everyone who has contributed
this week to get match reports in for all games. First
time I can remember this happening for a full set of
fixtures!
3 Oct 2004 - Weekend
Review - what a great weekend for the top of the club,
with the first 5 sides winning with an aggregate scoreline
of 16-3! Unfortunately the 6s and 7s took a bit of a
beating - the 6s being hampered by only taking 10 men to
Winchmore Hill for a cup game - how exactly can this happen
with the squad system?
The 1s had an excellent 1-0 win at South Bank and returned
in high spirits to the club - some even paying their
Membership Fees. The 2s won easily at home, also
against South Bank. The 3s continued their highly
impressive start to the season with a hattrick for Jack
Goodman. Also grabbing hattricks were Elliott Stevens
in the 4s and Michael Pickett, who finds himself now playing
for the 5s. The Vets won 3-2 at Nat West Bank and this
included a goal for keeper Dave Aldridge with a massive
clearance!!
On Sunday the U16s lost in their first home game with Adrian
scoring in a 1-6 reverse to Sutton High. The U13s had
a thumping win at Corinthian Casuals in the league.
