26 Feb 2005 - Weekend Review - the weather forced the Club to call off the 3rd team pitch on the cricket outfield, meaning that the Vets and 7s games were postponed.

Of the games that were played, the 1s continued their impressive recent run with a comfortable 2-0 at home to Old Parkonians.  Jon Phillips opened the scoring (his 14th of the season) and Andrew Taylor settled things with a strong header.

The 3s lost 1-4 in their final home game against Old Parkonians, and they have to hold it together in the final run in to the season to keep their promotion place.  The 5s lost 2-4 at Old Salesians to end their 3 game winning streak.

On Sunday the U10s recorded an important 2-1 win over high flying Tooting & Mitcham with goals from Arran and Jordan, while the U13s lost narrowly in a game that finished in a blizzard.

23 Feb 2005 - Barclays Award - Carshalton FC have been awarded a Youth Section training kit from Barclays in recognition of our work with the local community, particularly the Youth Section teams and the School Link with Stanley Park Junior School.  There will be a formal presentation towards the end of the season, once the kit arrives, so look out for coverage in the local press and further details and pictures to follow on this web site.
21 Feb 2005 - Weekend Review - another great result for the 1s with a 4-0 win over Old Finchleians which catapults them to 3rd in the league.  The 2s were equally successful at Alexandra Park on a gloop of a pitch, with the first hattrick in Carshalton colours for Gary Cummings.  The 3s lost narrowly at leaders Old Es, while the 4s drew an exciting game at HSBC 3-3.

The 5s won 1-0 over Wilsonians to take them above the 6s who lost 2-4 to 3rd placed Old Salesians - quite an incident packed game by all accounts.  The 7s scored 4 but still lost at Lloyds, while the Vets won 4-0 with all 4 goals coming from Alex Kiszczuk.  For photos from Saturday, [click here].

On Sunday the U10s lost 0-1 to Epsom Eagles for the 3rd time this season in another very close encounter that could have gone either way again.

15 Feb 2005 - U11 2005/06 Trials - Carshalton FC will be running a 11-a-side teams at U14 and U11 age groups as well as 2 mini soccer teams.  The U11s trials will be held on a number of midweek evenings in April.  These will take the form of training sessions and friendly matches against local clubs.  Boys born between 1st September 1994 and 31st August 1995 are welcome to trial.  Please send registration details to carshaltonfc@hotmail.com or call Buzz at 07736 387400.
14 Feb 2005 - Weekend Review - goals, goals, goals at Beddington Park with the 1s thrashing Kew 7-1, the 2s destroying Old Churchillians in the AFA Surrey Cup quarter final 6-0 and the 7s winning again thanks to goals from the club's top scorer Rick Morris, Jon Smith and Alan Thake.  On the main pitch, the 1s were too strong for a demoralised looking Kew outfit that were so dominant winning division 3 last season, but are struggling to stay in division 2.  Jon Phillips grabbed 4 himself and Adam Taylor, Matt Wigham and Shaun Swan chipped in with goals as Kew played 3 keepers (not all at the same time).

The 2s progressed to the cup semis with a bit of a stroll thanks to a Paul Pearce hattrick and goals from Gary Cummings, Shane Bowes and an own goal (nice try Ross).  Paul Pearce's yard of ale technique needs some serious work though.

The 3s came from 0-3 down to draw 3-3 at Southgate Olympic is atrocious conditions.  The 4s had an excellent win at Civil Service, and the 5s stormed to a 7-0 win at HSBC - not many of them to the pound.  Old man Terry Cave rolled back the years (and the pitch with his celebration) to score, joining Tom Prowse (2), Tyrone Knight (2), Mark Raven and HMS Paterson on the scoresheet.  with HMS at sweeper, Carshalton were always playing against the slope.  Boom, boom.

The 6s were 0-4 down before they knew it against the best side in the Division - leaders Kew 6s.  but they dug in to concede only one more - and they came back to the club for a few beers - some other sides take note please.  The least said about the Vets game, the better.

On Sunday the U10s won 3-0 at Chipstead in a very enjoyable friendly, with Conor, Jordan and Jake scoring.  The U13s game was postponed.

11 Feb 2005 - New Player Registrations - Carshalton FC operates a squad system for it's senior section teams and at present we have a full quota of players in each squad.  Therefore we are unable to accommodate any new players this season.

Any player wishing to join the Club in the 2005/06 season should register their details on the link on the right-hand column of this page and attend pre season training in the summer, details of which will be posted on this site in due course.

8 Feb 2005 - Code of Conduct - The following is an extract from FA Charter Standard Club Newsletter February 2005, which is of particular significance to our Club members.  We have codes of conduct for both the Senior Section and the Youth Section.

"One vital aspect of being an FA Charter Standard club is knowledge of The FA and Clubs Codes of Conduct.  Concepts of fair play, discipline, teamwork and learning to live by the laws, are all vital skills in moral development and particularly in the development of young people.  The FA takes the lead role in establishing the disciplinary framework for the game and holds direct responsibility for dealing with acts of misconduct in many areas. When it comes to discipline, it goes without saying that we expect all FA Charter Standard clubs to set the right example.  We have our Codes of Conduct and it is vital to stress to everyone that they should be aware of these at all times.  FA Charter Standard has actually been removed from some clubs this year due to either indiscipline or the lack of action by the club to deal with the situation themselves. It can't be emphasized enough that FA Charter Standard is the absolute pinnacle for football clubs in this country.  If you don't maintain the expected level then the FA Charter Standard will be removed."

Therefore the Committee will take the strongest action against those individuals who let themselves, their team and the Club down by breaking the Code of Conduct, thus threatening our FA Charter Standard status.
