28 June - World Cup
at the Clubhouse - all members are actively
encouraged to come down to the Club on Tuesday 4th and
Wednesday 5th July for the World Cup semi finals that
are being screened at the clubhouse (8pm KOs).
The bar will of course be open and profits will go
towards the cost of the new 42" plasma TV.
NO EXCUSES - WE EXPECT AS MANY MEMBERS AND FAMILY AS
POSSIBLE TO COME ALONG.
21 June - U11s
Tournament - our U11s were runners up at the
Brockham Badgers World Cup tournament last
Sunday. Having reached the final by scoring 16
goals without reply, the boys froze in the final and
lost 0-3 to Elm Grove. Still a fine
achievement. Most pleasing was that of the 72
teams competing, it was our lads who won the Fair Play
award, a reward for the attitude of the boys who
conducted themselves in the manner expected of our
youth teams - equally gracious in victory and
defeat. Well done boys. [click

17 June - 2s End of
Season Dinner - the 2s held their end of
season dinner on the 6th May, at the Khyber
Tandoori Restaurant in Croydon. During the
evening skipper Chris Tilley was presented with the 2s Player of the Season award with Neal Collard
and Andy Clower being the recipients of the Players'
Player award - two trophies required for this award,
as both Neal and Andy had received an equal share of
the votes from their team mates. Earlier in the
proceedings, Chris Tilley on behalf of the team had
presented manager Ian Lewis with a set of designer
cufflinks and also an England football shirt, which
had been signed by the 2s squad.
