The Football Foundation
Carshalton FC
are celebrating after being awarded a brand new football kit
by the Football Foundation, the UK's largest sports
charity. The new Nike kit worth £400 was awarded to
the newly formed U8s Girls Development squad as part of
the Foundation's Junior Kit Scheme. This provides
new strips and equipment to teams across the country and is
fronted by England and Tottenham star goalkeeper Paul
Robinson.
Over 10,000 kits have already been provided by the Foundation to junior clubs and schools ensuring young players of all abilities have the best possible start in the game.
The Football Foundation is dedicated to revitalising the grass roots of the game, constructing modern facilities, developing football as a force for social cohesion and as a vehicle for education in communities throughout the country. Funded by the Premier League, The Football Association, Sport England and the Government, the Football Foundation is the nations largest sports charity with a £45m budget going straight into the heart of football.
David Geddes, Club Development Officer at Carshalton FC thanked the Foundation, saying:
"The new kit is a huge boost and the girls will look great. By kitting out young players across the country, the Football Foundation's Junior Kit Scheme is another great way of encouraging boys and girls to get into football and stay healthy"
England's keeper Paul Robinson added:
"I know how important it is for young players to run out onto the pitch wearing the right kit. It helps make them feel more prepared for the game. On behalf of the Football Foundation, I wish Carshalton FC the best of luck in 2007/08 and would encourage teams to log onto the Foundation's web site and apply for a voucher. It's too good an opportunity to miss out on"
