The Norlands Foundation
Carshalton FC
are indebted to the generosity of The Norlands Foundation
for awarding the Club grants in 2005 & 2006
totalling £77,000. The Norlands Foundation is a
company limited by guarantee, incorporated in 1997. It
was established as an Independent Foundation to make grants
out of funds paid to it under the Landfill Tax Credit
Scheme.
The Foundation's principal activity is to make grants available for environmental projects and research activities.
Given that our site is about 200 yards from a landfill site, and given our plans to provide services to the youth of the community, we applied for grants to assist us in redeveloping what was a serious decaying clubhouse, badly in need of repair.
Thankfully our applications were looked on favourably and we spent the money on the following projects...
These facilities improvements have made a massive difference to the Club - not only the physical improvements defined above, but the whole mood of the Club has been uplifted. We are now able to plan the future development of the Club knowing that the structure of our clubhouse is assured and as good as any other private SAL club. We can feel comfortable offering these facilities to youth section players and we are now able to significantly expand our Youth Section operation.
We are hugely grateful to The Norlands Foundation whose funds have more than likely saved the Club from extinction. we simply could not have funded these essential works without them. Our thanks to Julian Le Patourel, Secretary of The Norlands Foundation for his assistance throughout this process.
