25 Jul 2007 - Joining Fees - all playing members are asked that they pay their Joining Fees (£50) no later than Saturday 13th October 2007. Skippers are reminded that they have a pivotal role to play in collecting these monies from their players and that after this date the Committee will enforce a rigorous No Pay, No Play policy, which will see them unable to include any player with an outstanding payment.
25 Jul 2007 - Pre Season Training - attendance at pre season training, which is taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the summer, has been very encouraging.  Every skipper has attended at least one session, taking the chance to cast an eye over a talented mix of both existing and prospective new players being put through their paces by our Training Co-ordinator, Dave Jenvey.  With the new Senior Squad Manager, Ian Lewis in attendance at all the sessions thus far, many players from last season's 1s and 2s have been regular attendees, which is very encouraging and augers well for the new season.  The Committee wishes to remind those players from all squads yet to get along to training that they run the serious risk of missing out when the 2007/08 squads are selected in a few weeks time at the Annual Skippers Meeting.  Any players unable to attend training must contact Ian Lewis at teamsecretary@carshaltonfc.co.uk to confirm their availability for the new season.
25 Jul 2007 - Six-a-side Tournament - we have entered 2 eight man squads in the Old Owens FC Six-a-Side Tournament, which takes place at the Old Owens Sports Ground, Potters Bar on Bank Holiday Monday 27 August.  This should provide a real pre season test for the players selected.  Further details will follow shortly.
25 Jul 2007 - Injury Crisis! - before a ball has even been kicked this season, the Senior Squad have suffered their first injury with centre-back John Biggle breaking a toe during last Thursday's training session.  Arriving last night to watch training, and sporting a plaster cast and crutches, John indicated that he is likely to be out of action for at least six weeks.  We wish John a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action very soon.
18 Jul 2007 - Friendlies - the 1s have friendlies arranged for 18 August (venue and KO time to be confirmed) against Old Wilsonians, 1 September away to Nottsborough (3pm KO) and 8 September at Old Salesians (3.15pm KO).

We also have 2s, 3s and 4s games at Old Salesians on 8 September, kicking off at 3.15pm, 3.15pm and 1.30pm respectively.
16 Jul 2007 - New Web Site - the Carshalton FC web site has been given an overhaul for 2007/08.  Thanks to everyone who has helped with providing feedback on suggestions for improvements.  If you find any problems (missing links, errors on pages, etc) please contact Buzz at webmanager@carshaltonfc.co.uk detailing the issue.

As well as an improved look & feel we have added features including the Paypal facility.  Outstanding fines, match fees etc can now be paid this way to avoid Club suspensions.  However the usual method of cash and cheque payment is preferred as Paypal transactions incur transaction charges to the Club.
16 Jul 2007 - Senior Squad Manager & Captains - congratulations to brothers Dave and Chris Tilley who have been appointed captains for the 1s and 2s respectively by the Committee.  Dave has also been appointed Club Captain and is looking to get the team back into Division 1 after finishing 3rd last season.  With the number of retirements from last season's 1s, the Committee felt it such an important appointment this season that the AGM agreed to allow the Committee to make this decision offline.  After a lot of discussions and hard work behind the scenes, it has concluded that Dave represented what the Committee was looking for - someone who knows the Club, is ambitious and has the support of last season's players.

Chris has the challenge of captaining the 2s in their return to Division 1 after a 6 year absence, and will be looking to consolidate in the division and groom young talent for promotion into the 1s.

Overseeing all this will be Ian Lewis who has been appointed Senior Squad Manager and will be responsible for player selection in the Senior Squad, with input from both Dave and Chris.  Ian will also function as 1s Manager on match days.

We wish all this season's skippers and managers the best of luck for this season and ask all members to give them your support throughout the season.  Players can start doing this now by attending pre season training!
13 Jul 2007 - Smoking Ban - please note that these is a smoking ban in force throughout the Clubhouse at all times
13 Jul 2007 - London Summer of Sport - we have received a grant of £85 from the London Summer of Sport body.  This is to assist us with running taster sessions for U8s Girls in the summer.  Further details will follow.
13 Jul 2007 - Junior Kit Scheme - we have been awarded a £400 grant from The Football Foundation to assist with running our Girls Development squad.  as well as paying for kit, the grant will also allow us to purchase match balls, and a selection of training equipment.
13 Jul 2007 - Pre Season Training -  pre season training sessions have started and are running throughout the summer on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm until the start of the season.  These will be run by our Training Co-ordinator Dave Jenvey.  They take place on the pitches adjacent to the Parkside café in Beddington Park, Wallington.  Anyone wishing to join the Club and existing members are invited to attend.  Attendees should bring appropriate kit - football boots, trainers, shin pads, both a coloured and a white shirt, and of course plenty of drinking water.

Players are warned that, as happened last year, they run the risk of being overlooked when the 2007/08 squads are selected if they do not attend training - Senior Squad members are expected to attend at least one of the sessions per week.  Anyone unable to attend the training nights must contact Team Secretary Ian Lewis or e-mail the Club at carshaltonfc@hotmail.com to confirm their availability for the forthcoming season.

If any of the Club's FA qualified coaches or Senior Squad players can assist Dave with the training can they please contact him at David.Jenvey@haleys-ltd.com.
7 Jul 2007 - AFA Cup Draws - the draws for the AFA Cup competitions have just been announced and these have thrown up a number of intriguing and indeed mouth watering ties for our teams.  Among many interesting ties is the 1s’ possible away trip to SAL Champions Nottsborough in the Senior Surrey/Kent Cup.  In a repeat of last season’s Intermediate Surrey/Kent semi final the 2s will visit SAL Intermediate Champions West Wickham.  Ben Doherty and his 4s face the longest away trip of all our sides, travelling to take on Silhill FC, one of the most famous and best-loved amateur clubs in the Midlands area and the oldest in Solihull.
