Fred Munro 1929 - 2007

Fred Munro, who passed away on 5th November, was quite a character and his name is frequently mentioned in football and cricket circles.  He played in the Carshalton 1st XI in the early 1960s and was a member of the team which played in the 1964-65 AFA Surrey Senior Cup Final (lost).

Fred came out of retirement in the late 1970s and joined the newly formed Veterans XI and played in the first AFA Veterans Cup Final in 1977-78 (again, lost).

He suffered latterly from Alzheimers disease and was in a nursing home.

His funeral is a Leatherhead Crematorium, Randalls Road, Leatherhead at 11.45am on Monday 19 November.
