Broomfield

1

Carshalton 2nd XI

3 Paul Pearce 2, Jason Winyard

SAL - 26th October 2002

Another away game in North London and fitting 10 players in two cars was entertaining to start with. Thank God our 11th player met us at the ground, otherwise alternative transport would have to have been used.  The first half was a below par performance from us with very little passing and holding onto the ball.  The defence was constantly busy keeping the home team shooting from range.  Our only decent chance was from our winger Paul Pearce who run down the right and shot to the keeper's bottom left and scored.

After a grilling from Charlie at half time we started to perform, creating a lot more chances.  With skipper Dean having two good efforts put blasting just wide (Dean’s excuse that the defender just knocked him to put him off, yeah right).  Paul Pearce added to his tally with a first time volley, again to the keeper’s bottom left.

Broomfield were starting to create chances at our end, and somehow found the net from 8 yards.  Charlie was not impressed and was again yelling at us all to start to play.  Whilst Charlie was yelling at us (the defenders once again) telling us we had 3 strikers to mark (we were pushing out as we were attaching), Jason Winyard intercepted a back pass, rounded the keeper and scored (Tony Edwards take some tips).  Sorry Charlie the defence had that covered and you missed our third.

6 games this season and still undefeated. (Deano as captain being the lucky charm)
