Carshalton 2nd XI

1 James Chambers

Old Salesians

SAL - 25th January 2003

It was our local derby against Old Salesians, so the game was not going to be an easy one.  We made the game twice as hard in the first half with a woeful performance as we conceded a goal and so went in at half time 0-1 down.  We gained our composure and in the second half we played football (yes folks the game we should have played in the first half).

The tempo of the game was fast and furious, our passing getting better, but we still lacked penetration in the final third.  We took full of advantage of Stuart Jeffrey's long through but our problem is that we have no height in the team.  Finally we levelled half way through with a tap in on the line from the ever present scoring machine (only joking) left back James Chambers.

We need to start playing football from the outset.  If not, our title and promotion hopes will fade away.  We still have to play the top sides, so the league is still wide open.
