Carshalton 3s

2 Bill Tilley, Tony Edwards

Ibis

1

SAL Division 2 - 30th September 2006

Our first home game of the season saw us entertain Ibis and there was a confident atmosphere in the changing room before the game.  Tony Edwards told everyone how he could have played first team football, Garry Baker kept going on about his date last week and everyone wondered what odds Dave Paterson would give us on Simon Clare being on the next celebrity Love Island. Pretty f-----g high.

I don't know what they feed them in West London but it was the tallest team in history.  However we started reasonably well with Paul Neil going close in the first ten minutes. We made hard work of it at times but after a well taken free kick from Dave Tilley we took the lead through Bill's glancing header.  Within 5 minutes they were level, a well taken effort from an acute angle saw us go in 1-1at half time.

We were brighter in the second with Gary Organ making an impact on his debut, and finally scored 10 minutes from the end through Tony Edwards' clinical finish.  It was a good performance in the second half with Tom Ritchie and Matt Dudley working hard and Terry pulling off a couple of fine saves.

At the end of the day it was 3 points which is all important.
