Carshalton 4th XI |
4 | James Greenslade, Tom Smith, Tyrone Knight, Elloitt Stevens |
SAL – 8th November 2003
After dominating from the start Cars took a well deserved lead through James Greenslade's clinical header from a corner. There were plenty of other chances before the break with Andy Newbold's free kick hitting the woodwork and Adrian Murphy falling over his own feet in front of an open goal. The new formation at the back held out well with Clive Mitchell and Kirk "Tony Blackburn" Reynolds giving nothing away. Mind you Kirk gives nothing away anyway. After the interval Cars went two up through Tommy Smith's decisive finish leaving the keeper stranded. At the other end keeper Andy Water was knocked out and fractured his hand in four places, yet still conceded nothing. Surely a call up to the 1s can't be far off for this legendary keeper? Ty Knight ensured victory with a clean strike and Elliot Stevens strange route of finding goal gave us a 4-0 victory.
Good performances from Jason Baker and Chevvy (short of hair) Conolly contributed to this deserved victory. Well done lads, about time.
