At last the slice of luck that had eluded us - a headed own goal from a disputed corner two minutes from the end of the game was enough to give the 4s their first league victory of the season. Ironically it was the worst we'd played since I've taken over the 4s but 3 points is 3 points.We started brightly and took the lead after 30 mins from an Andy Cook free kick. I'm sure it took a deflection but Cookie tried to convince everyone it sailed in to the corner unassisted.
In the second half we seemed to fall apart for twenty minutes and only three fine saves from Ian Castle stopped us falling behind. Inevitably they scored an equaliser a few minutes later.
It was a rather bad tempered affair with tackles flying in thick and fast, but we weathered the storm and got the winner from the above mentioned corner.
Promotion? Who knows
