A confident Carshalton 5th team turned up at Ealing looking to continue their unbeaten run against a battling BB Eagles side.  A last minute tactical change before the start saw Richard Bennett take over between the sticks from skipper Andy Walter.  Latest news from the medical team is that Andy will be going under the surgeons knife shortly to sort out his gammy knee.  I was personally happy to see Richard between the sticks as our personal bet now swings in my favour.

Carshalton started brightly playing most of the football in their half, were unfortunate to have a penalty appeal turned down and quite a few chances going begging.  We were beginning to think this was not going to be our day. Although, the stand in keeper Bennett did try to make the game more interesting by picking up a back pass which was rolled back to him.  He thought this was still the rule but actually the rule changed 25 years ago !! 

We went in all square at half time with a few harsh words said by Andy Walter to all raise our game, he was not happy to say the least.  Carshalton came out in the 2nd half looking to push chances into goals but again we couldn't finish and put this game to bed.  Bennett did pull off some fine saves to keep us in it as BB Eagles started creating a few themselves. 

But with 5 mins to go Carshalton had another attack with the ball squared to Dave " FAT BIRD " Fenton who unleashed a right foot shot just outside the penalty box with a slight deflection in the top left hand corner.  What an end to a game to which we just held on for the win.  Well played boys - let the run continue !!!
