SAL Division 4 - 29th October 2005

Great second half...pity about the first   We started off slow with myself being a culprit right from kick off giving the ball away.  This typified our first half with little effort, heart or endeavour being shown by the players.  We were 0-2 down at half time through two mistakes - a clearance from Dave Winnister in goal fell straight to their centre forward who tapped it in, and secondly Matt Huffer rather than clearing into Row Z (if we had an adjacent stand) dwelt on the ball and fell over for another tap in.  Talk about shooting ourselves in the foot.

A few sharp words at half time and a couple of changes simply to freshen things up (it could have been one of eleven who came off).  We went three at the back and went for it.  Ross Davies came alive causing all sorts of problems down the flanks and both Mark Raven and Alex Kiszczuk played very well down the middle.  I got my back side in gear winning everything in midfield along with Danny Berry.  We simply camped out in their half hitting the woodwork - Matt, how did you miss and Danny (dubious offside ).  Dave Winnister was by now reading a book in our goal.  It was like the old days attack attack attack.

Mark and Alex should have had a hat-trick each - no exaggeration.  We scored two goals; one through Alex and another through Mark 2-2.  Let's go for the winner, but alas no third goal.  Heart in the mouth time when Alex went one on one with the goalie but to no avail just wide.

If we show the second half attitude every match for 90 minutes, we won't go far wrong   See you at training Tuesday.
