SAL Division 4 - 3rd December 2005

After having a week off, a refreshed 5th team travelled to Lloyds for a tough away game.  The referee kindly put the game back a bit to allow four of our team to arrive - having been stopped by the police in Beckenham and searched and consequently found guilty of carrying too much hair gel and dodgy haircuts!  What an excuse at 1:45 in the afternoon.  Fortunately the Lloyds team backed up their alibi by stating that they had seen the incident.  Anyway fair play to the referee.

We started off slowly to be honest and weren't as clinical as we should have been.  Alex Kiszczuk missed a few chances early on.  Young Matt MacLoughlin, a late stand in, fired home a terrific goal.  Matthew has impressed in training and followed this up on the actual pitch.  Having gone two nil up through Alex we allowed Lloyds back into the game through a soft goal.  Fortunately both Ross Davies and Wini were working the flanks well with Mark Raven making some superb lay-offs.  Our work down the flanks allowed us to go in 4:2 at the break with further goals from Alex.  In fact I think he hit a hatrick before half time.

At half time we introduced James Thorley back from Gay Paris and Peter Lester back from the usual Stag Weekend.  We worked even harder, cut out the silly mistakes at the back and went on to win 7:2 with a further goal from Alex (4 in total) James Thorley and Ross Davies (matt having previously scored before half time).

The game got a bit heated in patches but fair play to the Cars lads who largely kept their cool.  Well done to the lads who were substituted and not moaning.

See you on Thursday at training
