SAL Division 3 - 18th November 2006

A good game well refereed in difficult conditions.

With no goalie we travelled to play Kew.  Having let a silly goal in last week in the last minute I was looking for a response.  First half we were poor - a yard off the pace and a bit half hearted in our challenges etc.  We took the lead through Mike Harwood as he chipped the goalie well from the edge of the area.  We then allowed a soft equaliser at a corner.  After this we re-took the lead through Alex.  2-1 up at half time.

Second half we moved up a gear.  Suddenly people like Matt Trumper were playing like their old selves.  Frank Roselli was dictating play and Mike Harwood was buzzing everywhere.  We soon went three one up through Frank Roselli before Alex made it four.  We then for a period went back to bad ways allowing a soft second goal on the counter attack.  This time because we had scored four it didn’t matter but it was still late.  Last fifteen minutes saw ‘Fatty’ Smith enter the fray.  Well done to his mate Lee Byrne for volunteering to come off to give his mate a run out.

We went back to their pub afterwards for a drink and had a good chat with the referee who was probably the best we have come across this season, before we all went out in Clapham for the night out – Steve Smith’s tactical suggestion!
