Really disappointed not to win this one despite the disrupted preparations.  With Fitz struggling with his SAT-NAV system – unable to find Woking let alone the actual ground we at least played this game with a goalkeeper.

The pitch resembled the Somme and when the referee finally turned up and gave the go ahead we had no time to warm up properly with players running out of the changing room through ‘no-mans land’ oops sorry the playing fields.  I hate not preparing properly for games.  The only pitch we could play on was a boys pitch which also had blue lines mixed with the standard white but as they say it was the same for both sides.

To be fair both teams threw everything into the cup tie but neither side could break the deadlock.  Both Alex and Elliott went close on a number of occasions.  Second half was very much the same.  I was disappointed to see the opposition bringing on two players who turned up late, began the afternoon drinking lager on the side, before donning a kit in the second half.  One of the players was especially ‘gone’.

So no goals - extra time.  We camped out in their half with the opposition depending on breakaways.  We just didn’t have that final ball.  So we went to penalties.  Jarvis saved four of them but we failed to again finish them off.  I think we ended up with 8 or 9 penalty takers.

We had a good drink in their bar afterwards and wished them luck for the next round.  A long day having left the club at 11:30 in the morning.  Shame we couldn’t convert our chances.

Well done to Jarvis for saving four penalties.

Lets keep working hard and push up the league…
