The game was played on a great pitch at HSBC's sports complex with the Carshalton side helped out by the youth section.  Wise heads and natural ability coupled with technical skills put Carshalton firmly on the front foot.  HSBC are a very good side and will do well this season.  I suspect they though the game would be a walk over as right up to the kick off Carshalton only had ten men.

The game started after the arrival of Dick Polley to make up the Carshalton 11.  from the kick off Carshalton looked in control and soon raced to a commanding lead with goals from Alex Howard (6mins), Darren Wells (11 mins), his brother Chris Wells on 20 mins.  Darren not to be out done by scored again at 22 minutes and all looked well or should I say WELLS!

One more goal from Alex Howard and a consolation for HSBC saw the game go into half time 5-1.  The old lags were clearly enjoying playing with the Youth team players and it was very entertaining to watch.  Carshalton F C have put a lot of resource into the Youth set up and today was 'Pay Day'.

In the second half Carshalton took their foot off the pedal and HSBC came back into the game.  The HSBC players never gave up and in the end the score showed what an entertaining afternoon every one had.
