A very much changed team from the previous week played a good BB Eagles team and saw the next generation of the Boughton family make their debut in Carshalton colours.  Trevor's son Luke came on after half time to play left back.  One can only assume there are other footballing links in the family, as Luke appeared reasonably competent at left back playing one particular ball in very well...kept his mouth shut and chose not to take every free kick, corner etc actually got on with the game!!!

Another outstanding performance came from Man of the Match Jockey!!!  He showed a classic fullback display - the "white Ashley Cole" with the exception of a couple of dicey moments and a horror penalty miss!!!I  (Trevor was champing at the bit!)  Goals came from Adrian Murphy (hatrick hero) - apologies Adrian for calling you Paul all the time during the game!!!  Tommy Smith (the name in itself brings back memories!- for the older members of the club) also had a good game making friends with their centre forward(!) whilst finding time to score a goal. Elliott Steven turned their defence inside out all day finishing the game with two goals.  Oh yes and the final scorer of the 7:1 rout, a certain Dave Jenvey who rose majestically from a good 4 yards to glance a well taken Jockey corner into the net.  I understand that Trevor is currently printing T-Shirts with the logo "I was there when Jenvey scored".  

Despite letting in a late goal, I was very pleased with everyone's application.  Unsung heroes who also played their part include Terry Vinson, Chris Addison, Dick Polley, Gareth Banton (who had actually had one of his best games for the club) and Giles Warrell who I think with games under his belt will get better and better.
