SAL – 1 November 2003

A good game played on the 2nd team pitch against top of the table HSBC.  Again a much changed team from the previous week with no Boughton Family input!  We welcomed back Danny Berry for his first game. Taking into account Danny's first fifteen minutes you 'would never have guessed!'  Having gone one nil up through Stuart it was disappointing not to finish the game off before half time. We certainly had the chances. Unfortunately we allowed HSBC back into the game just before half time before Stuart was tripped in the box and a penalty awarded.  Stuart got up and 'powered' home the penalty.

2:1 at half time.  HSBC changed their team at the break and attacked us after half time squeezing in a equaliser.  To be honest the game from then on could have gone either way.  But with the addition of Richard Verlander and Giles Warrell it was disappointing not to finish.  One goal would have done it.  It was disappointing not to have won.

Some notable performances came from Steve Collins (captain for the day) and Dick Polley at the back.  Nigel Powell volunteered to come off to allow Richard Verlander to come on and Mark Gordon worked hard bearing in mind it was his first game back after a long lay off.

Any way next week it's the return of the Boughton Family...see you at Lloyds...
