Carshalton 6th XI

2 Dave Robins, Andy Bitmead

Lloyds TSB Bank

SAL – 20 December 2003

A good solid display by the Carshalton 6th team in very difficult windy conditions which made play at times farcical. A very welcome return of Dave Robins resulted in a very well taken goal.  Both he and new boy Andy Bitmead linked up well causing Lloyds a lot of problems. Andy scored a welcome second goal which effectively killed the tie off despite some pre-Christmas charity work by Trevor Boughton.

It should be noted that Luke Boughton made his full debut for Carshalton at the age of 15 and played very well.  This brought the average age of team down to 67...joke!   It was also good to see Matthew Huffer back at centre half after a long time out.   We look forward to building on these performances in the New Year and pushing up the table to a position which befits the general standard of player in the team. The objective of the team is to push into the the top 4 at the very least now players are coming back from injury etc.

Have a good Christmas and a happy New Year and see you in 2004 for some hard graft and good football...     Half time report - not bad but could do better
