H.S.B.C. 6s

SAL - 13 March 2004

It must have been a hard game, as I had to go swimming first thing Sunday morning so as to be able to walk properly.  This now seems to be my key indicator as to how Saturday's game went (old age etc).  Anyway a 3-1 win was well deserved despite starting slowly again!!!  Letting a goal in again was very sloppy. We must clear our lines effectively.

Fortunately we equalised before half time through a good goal from Tony Edwards who worked hard up front alongside new comer Bradley.  Half time interval saw a few incidents occur which took our focus off the game.  Second half we managed to play ourselves into a better performance, almost dragging ourselves to play half decent football.

Well done to Jeremy for his bullet header from Gareth's cross which was very important.  The third goal was a contender for goal of the season.  Outside of the right foot from the half way line, first time volley by Gareth.  It killed HSBC dead.    Well done to the whole team.  Mark Foley worked hard on both flanks!!! and John Thoroughgood had one of his best games for the 6s since I've been involved.  Buzz even made an appearance at left back taking over from young Luke, shoring up the defence - like the shirt 69 Buzz went down well with the opposition.

Hopefully now we can cement third place.
