SAL Cup - 19th November 2005
We went one nil down again after giving the ball away and defending badly. We seem to do this every week before we start playing. Ed Jennings replied with a goal a few minutes later after getting on the end of a flick on from a corner. 2 goals this season already! Not bad at all from a defender!
Justin Said put us 2-1 up with a wonderful lob from the edge of the box. The plan is to feed him loads of pies each week to put some meat on those bones. I’m sure this chap will be knocking on the 1s or 2s changing room door next season if he keeps this up.
I changed things at half time and we looked better going forward than we did defending. We seemed to get over run in the midfield at times but Ben and Andrew worked their socks off again. It paid off with a hat-trick from our very own walking gnome. Tony is one of the few people in the world that can score without hardly moving. One of these goals was a tap in after the ex- AC Milan goalkeeper saved a penalty.
The whippet caused the right back problems throughout the game with his silky runs and great first touch. It’s a shame he didn’t score a few more which would have been well deserved.
I thought man of the match was Tony but I was corrected after the game that Justin deserves it. Well done Whippet.
Many thanks to Charlie Sinclair for reffing this game.*
CAN YOU PLEASE NOTE THAT TRAINING IS ON DURING THE WEEK. Even undefeated Galacticos need to do some training.
A final thanks to Wolf Man for not moaning at the forwards
