SAL Minor Section Division 4 - 3rd December 2005
Lost 1-4. An impressive new Salesians 4th team slaughtered us. We went 0-1 down after an unstoppable drive in the corner and a few minutes later I was out jumped by the smallest player in the park who scored a great header into the top corner. He was hailed by his own players as the new "black, George Best". A young player that will be an attribute to their club! He could turn on a sixpence and had a great touch. Without a doubt "man of the match"!
We tried to change things around by playing 3 at the back and 5 in midfield but this still didn't help. We were getting over run in the midfield and the pressure was increasing in the second half. They scored again with another great finish 10 minutes in. We did score from a Daniel Hewitt cross that hit the defender on the side of his head. This could have been considered as an own goal but he wanted to claim it. They scored again and could have got a few more if it wasn't for some desperate defending.
We have taken one good thing from this game. Ben can play in goal rather well and can launch a ball beyond NASA's capability. Perhaps he should have kept his mouth shut, as he will be in goal again if Nigel isn't available.
CAN YOU PLEASE NOTE THAT TRAINING IS ON TUESDAY. It would be nice to see most of the 6s there after another slight set back. Everyone's fitness needs to improve in order for us to progress.
