5s vs 6s are always special games, but with promotion on the line for both, this one was played with that extra edge as the season nears the end. The 5s started the better and scored 2 first half goals from throw-ins, where sloppy marking was our downfall. At half time they had the upper hand, they looked more organised and more up for it than us. 

In the 2nd half, the game came alive and was more open with more risks being taken by both sides. The 6s began to control the midfield a bit more and Tony was winning a lot in the air, but we just couldn't finish our chances.  With about 20 minutes to go, it was time for a re-shuffle and Dave came off for Jamie, with Justin "Euro Boy" moving up front. It looked like we weren't going to get anything as the young whippet missed a couple of decent opportunities in front of goal and the 5s themselves had a great chance to make it 3-0. 

With not long left on the clock, "Euro Boy" held the ball up in the penalty area and cut back a wonderful pass to myself to stroke into the bottom corner. It was 2-1 and game on. Our defence remained solid and Stevie G made a surging run forward with only seconds remaining. As he looked to pull the trigger, he laid the ball off to Big Edd who unleashed a left foot shot into the top right corner from all of 30 yards. 2-2 and our boys were ecstatic! A Dick-Edd combination had earned us a vital point. With Salesians losing at the weekend, it's still all to play for. 2 must win games coming up lads.
