We started this game playing against the only team to beat us this season. Confidence was not brilliant but we wanted to prove to them that our poor performance against them last time was a one off. They started the game better stringing passes together while we struggled with 5 yard passes.  In keeping with their possession they scored with a simple ball through the middle. 

This was a wake up call to us and we started to apply pressure. Immediately we got back into the game with a long throw from Matt Boyman being headed into the top corner by Rick Morris.  Carshalton scored again with a cross coming to Jay Breen who forced a save from the keeper but it left Steve Hayes with a simple tap in. The score was now 2-1 and we looked much the better team.  We got a number of corners that eventually paid off as one got cleared to Steve Hayes who controlled the ball over his head then hit it on the volley into the corner of the net and we were cruising going into half time. Then Poly struck with a cross that left Mark back pedalling but he could not get there in time while we watched it sail over his head.

The second half started quietly and after about 15 mins Poly struck again with a penalty.  They scored again with a long range effort creeping past Mark Brown in goal. We were now under pressure 4-3 down with 10 mins left.  We again stepped up the tempo and Matt Boyman put in a cross come shot that left the keeper baffled as it found its way in to the bottom corner.  With honours even Adam Lemon popped up to finish a nice through ball giving us the win at 5-4, keeping up our 100% home record.  Well done boys.
