The first outing for Carshalton Nursery XI ended in a 2-0 defeat with Carshalton 7s at Beddington Park.  However the boys more than held their own and had enough good chances to get a least a draw. 

After a frantic start on a big pitch and on hot day we showed great determination to stay in the game and finished the stronger of the teams.  For most of the lads this is their first experience of senior football and were all more than comfortable, although shame on Luke Broughton who didn't last as long as his dad who looks about 60.  And shame on Tom Thoroughgood for arguing with his dad, who looked great.  And shame on Marc Lowther Jnr for being better than his dad already. 

Well played and welcome back to Alan Barrett - very solid and reliable performance as usual and if this week is anything to go by, its going to be a good season in the Carshalton Nursery.

PS - Although Buzz has made it clear with regard the situation of bookings I'm taking bets on who the first will be for us.
