Carshalton 8s

3 Andy Bitmead jnr 2, Paul Bourke

Kew Association 8s

SAL Division 7 South  – 22nd October 2005

11 men, 3-0 up, and then we push the self destruct button.  Advantages in having young players - they're great at going forward.  Downside - they're crap at getting back.  And once again we paid the price for missed chances and poor choices.  Andy should have passed; you know when.  Me for not just clearing the ball for their second goal.  Scott for a stupid challenge that gave away the penalty and subsequent equaliser.  I know I continue to moan on but younger players have to understand the game isn't just about the joy of attacking.  Its also about working hard for the team, closing down and chasing back.

And playing for Carshalton is also about the clubhouse afterwards - not just going home immediately after the game.  It also costs to play.  I wasn't paid anywhere enough to pay the Club fees, and then there's the washing up.  Although its not any of the players' fault that we didn't find out we were washing up (whose fault is that?), the only players who washed up were me, Tom, Chris plus my Mrs and kids.  Plus I took 5 players to the game.  All in all excuses.  My mistake at the back and also gives me the right to moan.

C you next week.
