The first twenty minutes we dominated throughout. Malik was fouled on the edge of the box and the free kick was turned in well by Bazilio. We were 1-0 up and in control until the opposition pulled a goal back. After Derek handled, Lloyds were awarded a penalty. They converted the chance and the score was now 1-2. Even at this stage we battled away at every opportunity. We went into half time with the score at 1-2.

The second half got off to a good start but somehow we managed to concede a goal which could have been avoided. The score was now 1-3 but as usual Cars continued to battle away. We dominated on chances and possession. Through this Malik was able to convert his chance which brought the score to 2-3. The way we turned up the heat after this gave Lloyds a reality check if they thought we were done. This time they handled in the area and Bazilio converted the chance swiftly. We were now level and firing. The best and the worst was yet to come. Lloyds made it 3-4 with three minutes to go. I’m not sure if Smithy meant to cross the ball or shoot but he scored from it all the same. 4-4 was the final score.

As stand-in skipper I am proud to say that it was for this squad. We played good football and our morale was high even at the lowest of times. The only downside is that this is a game that we truly should have taken three points in, but the performance was 10/10.
