WSYL - 22nd January 2006

A very frustrating team performance,  from a game we should have won quite convincingly, from the amount of scoring chances we created.

We started the game with our passing not up to our usual standard and again we were not closing the opposition down quick enough.  Hampton to their credit,  battled well throughout the game,  making it hard for us to play our normal flowing football.  Chances were being created throughout the game but we came across a goalkeeper who was having a very good game.

The second half started all square but Hampton were soon to take the lead through an own goal,  hitting our defender on the back from a cross.  Five minutes later they struck again in only their second effort of the game as we caught napping.  We continued to press forward in search of a goal,  but it was turning into one of those days when it just was not going to go in for us.  We hit the goal frame on 3 occasions and one hooked off the line, plus numerous efforts that went into the side netting.

A very disappointing result,  lets hope we will all be focused for next week and back to winning ways.
