WSYL - 12th March 2006
Another fine victory for the team, in our final home game of the season. Although we should have scored a lot more than the five we did.
This was a game we controlled throughout the duration of the game with Hampton struggling to put us under any real pressure. Their goal though, was taken very well by their forward, with us failing to get back from a broken down attack which left us 3 against 2. The signs were there before this happened, the boys must remember their defensive duties in getting back against weaker opposition.
Our first two goals came from Harry, when he came on for Liam for two minutes whilst he received treatment for a nose bleed. Although we continued to dominate the game, our finishing was letting us down, plus the intervention of the goal frame.
The second half saw the introduction of Josh in defence for his first game out on the pitch, from his normal position between the sticks, which Mark carried out very well for us today. Josh adjusted well to his new role with some crunching tackles which impressed the home supporters.
Max scored by finishing off a fine passing move which opened up the Hampton defence, with Jack T scoring the fifth with a long range effort that deceived their keeper.
All of the boys had a good game today, lets keep it up.
