WSYL Premier Elite Division - 11th December 2005
This was a very disappointing result for us. A draw would have been a fairer reflection, but we suffered from not having a shot when the chance arose, and instead tried to score the perfect goal. At 0-2 down at halftime we were bitterly disappointed, but we cam back strongly in the second half and scored an goal with our best move of the game. Arran, who was fantastic all game, rounded a couple of defenders, whipped the ball into the box and Kristian managed to get his shot away. It was straight at the keeper, but somehow squirmed in under his body. We pressed non stop for the equaliser and Oxshott broke away at the end to seal the result.
A quick mention also to Mike who played at left back and midfield, and I think had his best game for Carshalton. Well done Mike.
2 lessons to be learned from today - get the shots on target when we get an opportunity to shoot, and secondly we need to pass the ball further. That does not mean we resort to the long ball. It simply means we need to use the advantage we have with players who can pass well getting the ball into our strikers so they have better opportunities to create scoring chances.
We have a cunning plan.
Well done to Oxshott and good luck to Kevin and his boys for the rest of the season. We always have good, friendly, competitive games, and this was no exception.
Next week we are away to Molesey Juniors, where we will be looking to get back to picking up league points.
