On a fantastic morning for football we found out we were playing on pitch 2 and with the goals looking fantastic and the pitch in very good condition Carshalton were prepared and ready for a good game.

An extremely bright start and some great football being displayed Carshalton found themselves 2-0 up very early on. Bill with the 1^st after a fantastic through ball from the excellent George W, Bill raced through to slot the ball past the keeper and he grabbed his second of the game minutes later after good work from Charlie the ball fell to Bill who calmly placed the ball in the back of the net. Carshalton clearly buzzing were playing superbly but a slight lack of concentration saw the Walcountians forward through on goal but a brave James rushed out to block his shot, great save! The game settled down after a frantic start with Carshalton moving the ball well and stringing some fine moves together, the defence staying solid with George W making some excellent tackles and his distribution was superb. Franz and Owen forming a great partnership looked solid throughout the game winning their headers and timing their tackles to perfection and George B covering round when called upon and using the ball very well.

A great through ball from Franz allowed Luke to go through on goal and his finish made it 3-0 to Carshalton. With 10 minutes to go until half time Carshalton were in control of the game and Bill grabbed his hat trick with a fine finish after good play from Levi and Sam. Just before half time Carshalton added a 5^th when Omar, on for the injured Shane, showed neat footwork out on the left and his cross found the inform Bill who side footed the ball home.

We warned the boys of complacency at half time and told them to go out and carry on what they were doing. Carshalton were warned by Walcountians early on in the second half when they grabbed themselves a goal and then added a second minutes later, this was all down to Carshalton taking their foot off the gas and not doing the right things, but they soon learned from this early lack of concentration and soon began to control the game again.

Charlie showing some great work out wide beating his marker and smashing the ball just wide and after Levi showed great determination his cross was met by Charlie who did excellent to keep his shot down but just sneaked wide of the post. Another scare from Walcountians came as Carshalton’s defence misjudged the flight of the ball and the forward racing through on goal but out of nowhere came George W with a last ditch challenge to avert the danger.

A good ball down the line from George B saw Omar put through and after his initial effort was saved he somehow managed to squeeze the ball in from an extremely tight angle to add a 6^th goal to what was already a fantastic Carshalton performance.

A fantastic performance today from Carshalton and if we can eradicate the slight lacks of concentration we could have won by an even greater margin. Well done to all the boys and a massive thank you to all the parents for your support and the parents who helped with the goals all the help is much appreciated myself and Chris.
