Friendly - 30th August 2006
The U12s played their first pre season friendly at Prince George's Playing Fields in Raynes Park against Netherne Falcons. The game was a good workout for both teams. Carshalton blooded 3 new signings and all acquitted themselves very well - David up front grabbed the first 2 goals from close range, Luke played the holding midfield role with distinction against his former team mates, and Charlie's performance at left back quite rightly won him the man of the match award. Carshalton's other goals were courtesy of a couple of thumping strikes high into the net from Arran, giving the keeper no chance. Ben completed the scoring after quick thinking at a corner and a cross / shot which nestled in at the far post.
Dan did what he had to in goal and kept his concentration throughout. The back three looked very solid as skipper Owen marshalled his players and Ryan looked as competitive as ever! Ruaridh, Mike, Ben and Jake had good games in midfield with Jake excelling on the left. Up front Arran and David formed a lethal partnership up front.
What was especially pleasing was the style of our football, our manners on the pitch and the way we all looked to be enjoying playing. Long may that continue. Many thanks to Eddie and his boys for a very enjoyable game, and we wish them all the best for their season. And finally thanks to our loyal bunch of supporters who encouraged throughout.
