Another game where the scoreline didn't reflect the territorial and possession advantage we enjoyed.  Some excellent performances from a number of individuals.  Clearly players were listening at training and there was a much more workmanlike quality to our performance.  We passed the ball better, especially in the second half, though there is room for improvement in this area.  Both goals came in the first half, with Carshalton opening the scoring.  David applied a beautifully composed finish after some fine interplay with his striking partner Simon.  There was a chance to make it 2-0, but almost immediately after that Molesey equalised - a goal that was wholly preventable.

Nevertheless there are signs of significant improvement.  For a start we are disappointed to come away from a top 3 side with only a share of the points.  The defending throughout the team was much better and especially from the back four, where there were man of the match performances from a number of boys.  In the second half in particular we played some good football and were extremely unfortunate not to take all 3 points when the tireless Simon worked an opening for himself and his looping shot clipped the crossbar. 

Let's have the same attitude in training on Tuesday, so we can continue to improve as individuals and as a team.  Many thanks to all who worked in the kitchen this week and to those who set up and took down the goals.  thanks also to Steve and Phil for running the line and to David for refereeing - another excellent game I thought.
