League  – 8th December 2002

Corinthian certainly came to Beddington Park wanting to be the first side to beat Carshalton Juniors U15s.  They opened with a lot of determination and their No. 25 looked lively up front.  However, the quality of Carshalton soon began to show through and Corinthians quickly started to get frustrated at being pinned back in their own half.  A menacing run from Robbie Turner gave the Corinthians defence no choice but to take him down and Chris Tupper opened the scoring from the resultant penalty kick.

Whilst Casuals got one back, two super goals from Aaron Williams, a first class effort from Jack Goodman, and a superb 20 yard shot from Stevie Greenslade took Carshalton to 5-1.  Whilst Casuals got another all this did was to inspire Robbie Turner  to score an excellent and well placed shot taking Carshalton to 6-2 at the full time.

Once again this was a true team effort with Darren Wells back to full match fitness, Tom Lawler sorting out the the lively Corinthian midfielder in the second half, Jack Mesure working hard to bring players in and the rest of the side looking increasingly composed.

Much has been said about Carshalton this season but Trevor Knight, manager of the under 14s who originally brought together the side at under 9s said after the game 'I have to say that you are probably the best side I have seen -  not only is there skill in depth but there is no fear and you always feel you can step up a gear.  You can go all the way.  The only thing that will stop you is COMPLACENCY  - Please don't let that happen'
