Hampton Youth

1

Carshalton U8s

3 James 2, Noah

West Surrey Youth League  -  8th January 2006

Our boys started the New Year with a welcome win, away to Hampton.  The Christmas break seems to have done the lads a power of good, as from the very first whistle Carshalton always looked in control and were pressing the opposition back into their own half.   Within ten minutes the deadlock was broken by a great effort from Noah, beating his man and firing a low shot past the Hampton keeper.  The boys never looked back and went further ahead when James scored the first of his two goals with a cracking left foot drive.   Great work from the tireless Harry and Oliver E kept Hampton attacks to a minimum.

Although Hampton scored in the second half, the outstanding Oliver "The Bear" made a series of great saves to deny Hampton a comeback.  An intelligent midfield display from Jordan ensured that Carshalton ran out worthy winners, with James rounding the Hampton defence, before netting the ball again.   Good work from Shaun, Michael and Matt, along with Luke made this a great all-round team effort.

A new year and off to a flier.  Let's hope the boys keep it up.   Many thanks to Ian and Hampton Youth for a great game.
