The final game of 2003 was a pulsating league match against Worcester Park Colts.  The game flowed end to end and a draw was probably about right, though we felt we had the better chances to win it (I'm sure Worcester Park could point to chances they had as well).

Worcester Park opened the scoring with a long range shot from the right that caught the wind and flew into the top of the net.  After last week's capitulation (a bit of a harsh word, but I couldn't think of another), it was very encouraging to see the response the boys produced.  The equaliser followed a spell of pressure and a handball was spotted by the referee.  Jordan was quick to claim the ball and hammered the penalty in off the underside of the bar.  The keeper had no chance.

Throughout the second half we piled the pressure on but failed to make the breakthrough - one passing move with Lewis and Arran in particular would have been a fantastic goal, but the keeper did well to smother the shot.  Worcester Park hit us on the break and created chances of their own, but he defended a lot better as a team and Dan had a couple of great saves.

Fantastic entertainment - well played all players.  Thanks again for the support of both sets of parents - it made for a great atmosphere for the boys.  I'd also like to thank all the parents who help set up the goals, take them down, and assist in the kitchen.  Andrea handed over £200 this week that will go to paying for training for the next term.  All your hard work is very much appreciated.
