WSYL – 25th January 2004

I must thank all the boys for their effort and support during Sunday's match, considering l changed the format around by trying to play more attacking football thus creating more chances.  A big thank you to Owen who played in midfield for the first time and scored his first goal for Carshalton FC.  He worked tirelessly for 50 minutes, pushing forward when needing to and defending as well.

Starting from the back, Daniel was at his best again; lots of shouting to the defence and midfield, and he made some great saves.

Conor, Ben and Joseph defended well, cancelling out some good attacking moves by the opposition.  The first goal was a great relief for the manager on the day.  Shortly after kick-off Owen passed a 30 yard ball to Jordan on the left who quickly passed to Arran in the centre and he banged it home for 1-0 up. Brilliant set up.

Arran made some great tackles in midfield whilst giving strong support to Lewis and Jordan up front.  Luke, ever improving, impressed me with his ability to listen and learn another good game lots of involvement.  Jordan didn't play at his best, very much excused as he went down with the flu and sore throat on Monday through to Wednesday.  Lewis played up front with Jordan for the first time and at times it must have felt a little strange for them both to be attacking, but they combined well.  I was impressed with Lewis.  When we defended, he raced back to help fill the gap in defence - great running.

Hope to continue with our winning run this Sunday.
