A beautiful afternoon on Wandsworth Common and only the bare eleven. Wayne, our goalkeeper the previous week, volunteered to play at the back and did very well. In midfield, Phil Williamson and Derek Cadman worked tirelessly and helped to create the few chances that were on offer. However, it was a good team performance against quite strong opposition and we thought we had defended well enough to gain a draw, but 15 mins from the end we let it slip when an unmarked forward scored from close in. There was to be no hanging around as we all had commitments later on. 10 of us off to watch Turkey v England and Ian Newman off to the opening of the South London mosque in Morden!Jim Finn
