Economicals

Friendly - 8 March 2008

We have played Economicals three times this year and in those three games a total of 23 goals have been scored!  The opposition are a well balanced side and pass the ball well.  They also have a player who can strike the ball hard and accurately as we were to find out later.

We were fortunate to have Danny and Kevin MacLeod playing for us and they were excellent how they played for the team and made others around them play well. Our visitors went two goals up, their first from a good shot inside the area and the second from a penalty. For the first twenty minutes we were not really in the game, but all of a sudden we woke up and Chris Moggridge pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.

Then straight from the kick off, Economicals went further ahead. Their forward took the kick off and shot at our goal and scored. It was a great strike, his second like that in the past 3 weeks!! Still we came back and got back to 3-3 with some good play and two goals from Trevor Boughton, though some maintain the second was an own goal.

Into the second half and Economicals went ahead again, but we equalised with a great goal from Trevor when he latched onto a long pass and he lobbed the goalkeeper from outside the area. Once again, our visitors went ahead, but we kept working hard and passing the ball well and were rewarded when Kevin MacLeod volleyed home to tie the match. Kevin Pracey, Joe Cox and Chris Clark had good games and were more confident on the ball.

Players from both sides enjoyed the game which contained more passing movements than most other games we have been played this season.
